Brush and Roll Painter

Prepare surfaces for coating application in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and NAVSEA requirements, then apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and other hand-held equipment. Mix paint, assist spray teams with equipment setup and line tending, and perform abrasive or non-abrasive removal of old coatings using power and hand tools. Conduct visual inspections, repair discrepancies such as holidays or dry film thickness issues, and install protective coverings to safeguard existing assets. Clean work areas, tanks, and spaces using pressure washers, vacuums, and other debris removal methods while monitoring hot work operations as a Fire Watch. Assist structural trades with metal work and cable installation, operate forklifts, and manage containment setups. Full-time role at U.S. Navy Shipyards and private facilities; 2+ years of marine industry coating experience required.
