Job Summary
Lead equipment modernization for legacy production equipment and control systems, covering the full chain from original equipment assessment through library validation to hardware commissioning. Digest mechanical functions, electrical schematics, and control logic to establish baselines for upgrade decisions, then manage project scope, schedule, and stakeholder coordination across TEF3, production, and external partners. Operate AI-assisted conversion tools to generate Nexeed Automation library blocks, validate generated code against legacy baselines, and build reusable PLC libraries. Lead hardware integration of PLCs, drives, and safety relays, troubleshoot field issues across bus and logic layers, and document knowledge for team sustainment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related fields
- 5+ years of hands-on PLC engineering and industrial automation experience, including brownfield / legacy system exposure
- Deep PLC hardware and software engineering competence — covering legacy controllers, target ctrlX platform, and fieldbus communication
- Able to design library structures, define block interfaces, and apply software engineering discipline to PLC code
- Ability to read and review AI-generated library code and verify functional equivalence against legacy baselines — deep PLC expertise is the core requirement
- Hands-on commissioning of PLC hardware, peripherals, drives, safety relays, and I/O modules; able to read electrical drawings and integrate at the hardware level
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Fluent English both in speaking and writing
