Job Summary
Volunteers engage with patients at Montefiore Weiler Hospital to enhance the patient experience through various support roles. Responsibilities include rounding, providing comfort, assisting during outpatient procedures, and supporting families in the Ronald McDonald Family Room. Volunteers can work in areas like Nursing Unit Comfort Care, Perioperative Rounding, or Child Life, where they might engage in therapeutic play. Commitment requires at least 100 hours, with shifts lasting 3-4 hours. All applicants must meet age requirements and complete a screening process.
Required Qualifications
- Must commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service
- All volunteers must be 16 years or older (18 for certain roles)
- Applicants must be applying or have applied to PT/OT or PA school
Additional Requirements
- No clinical patient contact for volunteers
- Must identify preceptors and receive approval before onboarding
