Job Summary
Provide technical assistance to producers caring for company birds, advising on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedies when possible. Monitor feed consumption and order if necessary; pull blood and fat samples as required. Coordinate chick placements to farms; assist with catch schedules; ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding contract farms. Ensure compliance with production contracts and USDA/government regulations regarding poultry handling. Work with Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements; perform other duties as needed. Travel 1 to 5 trips per year. Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl. Relocation: No. Background checks may be required. Tyson Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred
- 1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means
- Proficiency in active listening, ensuring mutual understanding, and adapting communication style to various audiences
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries
