Job Summary
Manage all engineering aspects of the technical facility, including studio support, editing systems, field production support, and transmission of live/taped events. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as repairs, equipment replacement, and supply management for audio, video, cameras, recording equipment, servers, switchers, routers, and satellite systems. Oversee and implement engineering projects while maintaining building needs, including HVAC, generators, security systems, and electrical hardware at the station and remote locations. Execute necessary corrective actions and provide on-call services during breaking news, severe weather, and system updates. Assist in emergencies with expert knowledge of equipment and technology.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Customer-focused problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and able to see projects through
- Ability to work under high-stress situations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available to work during breaking news situations, severe weather, new system integrations and updates, and provide on-call services
- Display and maintain professional appearance, based on station standards and professional demeanor
- Hours can vary as needed to maintain and repair equipment and finish assigned tasks. Hours can include evenings, overnight, weekends, and being on-call as scheduled
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Previous broadcast experience is preferred but is not required - on-the-job training will be provided
