Job Summary
Broadcast Engineer/IT role supporting day-to-day operations of KVUE-TV's 24/7 news operations. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter site, remote locations and remote vehicles; troubleshooting equipment issues; performing routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers; contributing to technical documentation; occasional field work on remote productions; and minor building-related maintenance. Requires 3-5 years of broadcast engineering or related experience, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, understanding of computer hardware, networks, and Active Directory, and a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks; valid driver’s license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle is required. Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in broadcast engineering or related.
- Strong organizational, communications, and time-management skills.
- Able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and work well with others.
- Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft’s Active Directory environment.
- Ability to plan technical projects and clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Available on call.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks.
