Job Summary
Broadband Network Technician (BT IV–V) at Vyve Broadband leading advanced field diagnostics, network maintenance, and outage restoration. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing HFC networks (RF, AC, DC, optical), optimizing performance via node balancing and calibration, monitoring signal leakage with FCC/compliance focus, maintaining documentation and standing maintenance on standby power supplies, mentoring BT I–III technicians, supporting outage restoration with clear communications, operating company vehicle/equipment, and submitting job logs via mobile devices. Growth opportunities include leadership development and internal certification support (SCTE, NCTI).
Required Qualifications
- BT IV certification or equivalent work experience
- 6+ months as a Broadband Technician III or equivalent field network experience
- Ability to splice coax and fiber optic cable
- Proficiency with signal meters, spectrum analyzers, OTDRs, volt-ohm meters, and leak detectors
- Strong understanding of HFC and IP networks
- Experience reading and interpreting system maps and schematics
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather, on ladders, in confined spaces, and during on-call rotations
