Job Summary
Inspect underground infrastructure for defects, implement repairs, and conduct fusion splicing with minimal loss while interpreting construction blueprints for accurate cable routing. Oversee subcontractors to maintain compliance with project specifications and safety protocols, including TxDOT and OSHA standards. Perform pre-construction audits, execute post-installation quality control tests, and generate daily reports using metadata for work phase photography. Troubleshoot technical issues, participate in development reviews, and ensure adherence to data security regulations. Full-time onsite role in Pharr, TX. Requires FTTX expertise, proficiency with OTDRs, VFLs, and power meters, and knowledge of local and wide area networks.
Required Qualifications
- Must be knowledgeable on the practices and principles of fiber to the home/premise networks (FTTX)
- Knowledge of implementing, managing, and monitoring local, and wide area networks
- Knowledge of implementing, managing, and monitoring wireless networks
- Knowledge of network diagnostic tools and in broadband ISP networks
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing tasks/projects
- Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, GIS
- Must be customer-service oriented always have a customer friendly attitude and professional appearance
- Skill in effectively using job related networking equipment and diagnostic equipment
- Proficient with OTDRs, VFL, and power meters
- Read/interpret GIS maps and construction schematics
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
- Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position
