Job Summary
Postal Clerk role within the BC Public Service. Responsibilities include operating a delivery vehicle, walking delivery routes, sorting and processing mail, completing shipping/receiving activities, and using scanning and digital imaging technology. The position is part-time with on-site requirements and a temporary status through 03/31/2027, with potential extension. Emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and service to government partners, with a CRC requirement and residency in BC. Strong emphasis on customer service, data entry, and operation of mailing/scanning equipment as part of a larger supply services team.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- Experience providing customer service
- Experience in keyboarding/data entry, word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience using operating equipment such as hand and power pallet jacks, electric forklifts, delivery vehicles, mailing machines and electronic scales.
- Experience using personal computers, multifunctional devices (MFD), handheld scanners and high-speed production scanners.
