Job Summary
Store Manager responsible for a major retail operation within BC Liquor Stores, overseeing staff, scheduling, stock control and security across office, retail and warehouse settings. The role emphasizes leadership, cost-control, revenue optimization, customer service, and reporting; requires a criminal record check, Serving It Right, ability to work all shifts (including nights and weekends), and the physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position may involve administrative duties, cash handling, and operating equipment, with an expectation to hire, train and develop staff and maintain branch policies. An eligibility list for future opportunities may be established. The role operates under the BC Public Service framework and collaborates with HR for recruitment and accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate
- A minimum one (1) year of recent experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor within a customer-facing, service environment
- Experience must include direct accountability for achieving and driving sales
- A criminal record check is required
- Serving It Right certificate is required
- Must be available to work all shifts – days, nights and weekends as well as outside of established hours of operation
- This is a hands-on leadership role which may require administrative and clerical duties; operating a cash register; lifting liquor cases up to 50 lbs. to varying heights; and operating a variety of mechanical and hand-operated equipment
