Job Summary

Lead policy development and planning initiatives that advance provincial priorities such as affordable housing, climate action, and inclusive community growth within the University Endowment Lands. Collaborate closely with diverse partners to guide the UEL's growth and stewardship while addressing complex issues ranging from transit-oriented development to reconciliation. Flexible work options allow up to two days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. A Criminal Record Check is required, and employees must be located in BC at the time of employment. Applications are accepted until 11:00 pm Pacific Time on the closing date.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban and/or Regional Planning or a related field (e.g. Architecture, Public Administration)
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible planning experience
  • Qualified as a member in good standing, or with ability to become a member within six (6) months, of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and/or the Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC)
  • Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement
  • A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required
  • Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years or more of progressively responsible planning experience and/or direct local or provincial government planning experience
  • A Master's degree in Planning or a related field
