Job Summary
Nurse Educator (Part Time) at Bright Beginnings delivers Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention and Talking is Teaching education to parents and caregivers of newborns in Tulsa-area hospitals, utilizing NICU caregiver groups and home-visit components. This role employs the Period of Purple Crying and Talking is Teaching curricula, maintains participant records for reporting, presents the Family Connects model to hospital families, and supports agency quality initiatives. Requires RN or LPN licensure, valid driver's license, current BLS, ability to work weekends, strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to lift 25 lbs. Schedule includes three weekends per month, Saturday and Sunday 8am–5pm, with potential evening duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current registered nurse or licensed practical nurse licensure required
- Possesses a valid driver’s license, ability to safely and reliably drive to and from local hospitals daily to provide services
- Maintains current BLS certification
- Ability to work Saturday or Sunday as part of official work week and some evenings if needed
- Excellent oral communication and active listening skills
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with both professionals and consumers
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
