Job Summary
The Bridge Rate Engineer will conduct inspections and load ratings of bridges and design for new constructions, as well as rehabilitation and replacement projects. Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, developing construction plans with CAD designers, and providing cost estimates and recommendations for structural improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in civil/structural engineering
- Good Communications skills
- Able to work independently or in team setting
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed professional engineer preferred
- NBIS qualified Team Leader with structural design experience
- Completed one or more NHI courses; Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (130055), Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (130053), Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges (130078), Tunnel Safety Inspection (130110), Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures (130087)
