Job Summary
Bridge Inspector Team Leader role at Ulteig involves applying NBIS inspection techniques (Routine, Rope Access, Underwater), leading multiday inspection trips, and potentially performing bridge load ratings and design work. Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program or equivalent preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) licensure or the ability or obtain one in 6 months is preferred
- Civil Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability or obtain one in 6 months is preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of bridge inspection experience
- Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) Entry Level Tender/Diver, Air Diver, or Air-Diving Supervisor certification is preferred
- Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) certification is preferred
- National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130055 “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” or #130056 is required
- National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130078 “Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges” is preferred
- National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130091 “Underwater Bridge Inspection” is preferred
- Ability to lead and manage others in the field with minimal oversight
- Experience using Non-Destructive Testing methods is preferred
- Working knowledge of bridge inspection methods and procedures
- Excellent communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills
- Experience in bridge and structural design is preferred
- Experience in bridge load ratings and AASHTOWare Bridge rating BrR is preferred
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
- Must be willing to travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background check
