Job Summary
Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Engineer III at AECOM leading routine, in-depth, and fracture-critical inspections from Grand Rapids or Novi, MI. Responsibilities include performing inspections with snooper/bucket trucks or lifts, travel in-state and out-of-state, overseeing bridge load ratings and construction inspection oversight, and guiding entry-level engineers within budget and schedule parameters. Requires BA/BS + 4 years' experience, valid DMV license, and applicable certifications (EIT/PE preferred; Certified Bridge Inspector/Team Leader in at least one state). Sponsorship and relocation support are not available. US citizenship required.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid DMV license
- Bridge design or load rating experience
- 2+ years' experience of in-service bridge inspections
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
- PE highly preferred
- Certified Bridge Inspector/Team Leader status in at least 1 state
- AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) experience
- FHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Certification
- FHWA-NHI-130078 NSTM Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges Certification
- Experience operating snooper trucks, bucket trucks, and man lifts
