Job Summary
Bridge Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for bridge and heavy civil projects by analyzing blueprints/specifications, calculating quantities for materials, labor, and equipment, and incorporating risks, site conditions, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with engineers, superintendents, and project managers to develop bid proposals, utilize estimating software to model costs and schedules, conduct site assessments, and apply value engineering to optimize costs while maintaining quality and safety. Requires experience in cofferdams, piling, sheeting, shoring, heavy concrete, demolition, and related processes, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and PE a plus. Focus areas include bid preparation, cost control, market tracking, and post-bid analysis to improve future estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably bridge/heavy civil
- Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Viewpoint Vista, ASTA) and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of bridge/heavy civil construction methods and safety standards
