Job Summary
Lead complex DOT bridge and infrastructure projects; develop structural calculations and drawings for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects related to bridge and transportation structures; perform data collection and analysis to evaluate alternative solutions; prepare written technical reports; support construction phase (RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, problem solving); train and mentor junior engineers; requires PE licensure and 4+ years of bridge design and plans production experience; proficient with Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD/CADD, and MS Office; familiar with AASHTO LRFD; masters preferred; Florida registration preferred; includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer
- 0 – 5 years post PE registration structural engineering experience
- 4+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience
- Experience using bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, FDOT MathCAD)
- Proficiency with Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD and/or CAD platforms
- Ability to do 3D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler (a plus)
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Ability to guide junior staff and participate in multi-discipline bridge projects
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
