Job Summary
As a Bridge Engineer at Benesch, you will serve as the lead engineer on various bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, mentoring junior staff and preparing and reviewing structural and geometrical calculations. You will manage the coordinating of plans, specifications, and estimates following DOT standards, and lead structural designers in developing design packages. Successful candidates will have a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, a PE License (or the ability to obtain one), and 5 to 10+ years of bridge design experience. Strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and proficiency with design software are essential.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering or related discipline
- PE License in Colorado or ability to obtain through reciprocity
- 5 to 10+ years of bridge design experience
- Ability to assemble a complete design package and construction documents for assigned elements or projects
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- MS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Experience working with CDOT and/or municipalities
- Proven experience performing complex analysis and design
- Proven experience with various structural design and analysis software; Leap Bridge, LUSUS, Midas, and OpenBridge a plus
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and client relation skills
