Job Summary
Lead bridge design, rehabilitation, and inspection projects as a Project Principal or Lead Engineer, managing scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets while coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver design solutions and drawings. Research markets, develop client relationships, and identify business opportunities across Illinois and Minnesota to facilitate the growth of the bridge practice. Provide technical leadership and oversight on overall practice operations, ensuring quality control reviews of deliverables and back-checking work of others. Act as a mentor to staff, fostering a goal-oriented team capable of delivering complex projects within strict deadlines and budget constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural)
- IL or MN Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer License required (SE)
- 15+ years of bridge experience
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Have a solid understanding of MnDOT or IDOT's consulting expectations and needs
- Ability to track budgets, maintain project/group performance goals
- Exceptional technical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Masters in Engineering a plus
