Job Summary
Bridge Design Engineer to design and analyze complex bridge systems for municipal and highway projects in the Kansas City area. Responsibilities include performing rigorous structural calculations using traditional methods and Bentley OpenBridge/MicroStation, developing high-fidelity models and documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams (roadway, hydraulic, geotechnical), producing quantity takeoffs and technical reports for cost estimation and bid evaluations, ensuring compliance with DOT standards, and engaging with external stakeholders and field teams to understand the project lifecycle from concept through construction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering
- Robust understanding of structural engineering principles as they apply to bridge design and transportation infrastructure
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet critical project milestones without sacrificing technical accuracy
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for diverse stakeholders
