Job Summary
Bridge Design Engineer responsible for independently performing engineering tasks related to structural design and analysis. Must be licensed to practice civil engineering in the state of primary practice or eligible to obtain licensure in another state within 6 months. Strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and ASCE 7; able to learn other codes as needed. Performs complex structural design tasks, checks designs, mentors others, and leads small design efforts as engineer-of-record on projects. Responsibilities include preparing structural calculations, CAD markups, specifications, and contract plans, managing file organization, and interacting with clients; occasional travel to sites and plan reviews is expected. Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. Years of experience: 4 years (3 years with advanced degree). Licenses/registrations: PE required. Driving and travel to job sites frequently; valid driver's license required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire
- 4 years of experience (3 years with advanced degree) in structural design/engineering
- Proficiency in structural design software and codes
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
