Job Summary
Bridge Design Engineer responsible for independently performing engineering tasks related to structural design and analysis. Must be licensed to practice civil engineering or eligible to obtain licensure within 6 months. Requires strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7). Duties include preparing structural calculations, cost estimates, CAD markups, developing contract plans, reviewing designs, mentoring team members, leading small design efforts as engineer-of-record, and collaborating with clients. Travel to job sites and remote/field activities are essential; driving is required. PE license, 4 years of experience (3 with advanced degree) and a Bachelor's degree are required; Master's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license
- 4 years of experience in structural engineering
- Master's Degree preferred
- Graduated in engineering-related field acceptable
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, IBC, ASCE 7
- Ability to lead small design teams
- Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis software
- Willingness to travel to job sites
