Job Summary
Operates and supervises power construction equipment to excavate, move and/or grade material; plans and coordinates the foremen and crew under supervision; leads safety programs and zero-injury initiatives; reviews and signs off on pre-job safety planning; monitors scheduling, material control, unit man-hour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management in FPMS; develops 4-week and 1-week schedules, reviews crew timecards, participates in incident investigations, communicates safety concerns, and ensures quality control per contract plans and industry standards. Requires NCCER certifications related to heavy equipment operations, site layout, crew leadership, supervision, and project management; CDL may be required for on-road operation; must meet age requirement and onboarding prerequisites.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a journeyman and supervisor heavy equipment operator
- Strong working knowledge of operating and rigging crafts
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) required when equipment operates on public roads
- Medical Examiner's Certificate on file before operation begins
- Leadership abilities and organizational skills
- At least 18 years old
- Onboarding requirements including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records (as applicable)
