Breeding & Genetics Officer

Job Summary
Support joining, pregnancy testing, calving, weaning, and breeder management programs while maintaining accurate herd, breeding, and genetic records. Assist with sire and breeder selection, replacement planning, and culling decisions by analyzing performance and genetic data to support business decisions. Collaborate with property managers, veterinarians, nutritionists, and genetics providers to ensure strong animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement in breeding protocols and data collection standards across a fully integrated Wagyu supply chain. Based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, with extensive travel across regional properties.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in commercial cattle breeding operations
- Knowledge of joining, pregnancy testing, weaning and genetic evaluation
- Strong cattle handling skills and confidence working in livestock environments
- Excellent attention to detail and data management capability
- A willingness to travel extensively across regional and remote properties
Desired Qualifications
- Wagyu or premium beef breeding experience
- BREEDPLAN experience
- Exposure to feedlot operations
- Strong Excel and Power BI skills
