Job Summary
A WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to pregnant and breast/chest feeding clients as a paraprofessional support person. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, ability to lift 30 pounds, potential travel, and adherence to background and driving record checks. Most work can be indoors with remote work possible per Telework policy; part-time 10 hours/week. Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual English/Spanish both written and verbal
- Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check
- Maintain a current driver’s license
- Completes all state and local required breastfeeding support training
- Previous work with infants, children, and families desirable
