Breast Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem

Job Summary
Perform clinical breast ultrasound procedures by capturing accurate images, evaluating quality, and interpreting findings to aid radiologist diagnosis. Explain the procedure to patients, maintain equipment, sterilize rooms, and present preliminary findings to physicians. Review prior images and reports, utilize PACS and EMR systems, and maintain patient records with medical notes. Collaborate with Mammography technologists and the healthcare team to ensure appropriate information capture. Attend Unified and UMAMS meetings, complete assigned compliance and education requirements, assist in special projects, and train other technologists as needed.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS registered sonographer
- You must also have, or be eligible to obtain within six months of hire, an ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography certification
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in PACS and RIS Systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively in English as required by job duties
- Must be able to understand and follow safety instructions provided in English
- Role requires reading and writing in English to complete documentation, reports, and compliance requirements
- Ability to interact with customers, clients, or regulators in English as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an imaging environment is highly desirable
