Job Summary
Perform breast ultrasound procedures while ensuring transducer accuracy and evaluating image quality for the radiologist. Explain the procedure to patients, review prior imaging and reports, and present preliminary findings to the healthcare team. Maintain equipment, sterilize the room, and update patient records in the EMR and PACS. Work closely with mammography technologists and the operations manager to capture appropriate information. Attend Unified and UMAMS meetings, complete compliance requirements, and assist in special projects or train other technologists as needed.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS registered sonographer
- ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography certification
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in PACS and RIS Systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively in English as required by job duties
- Ability to understand and follow safety instructions provided in English
- Role requires reading and writing in English to complete documentation, reports, and compliance requirements
- Ability to interact with customers, clients, or regulators in English as needed
