Job Summary
Breast Ultrasound Technologist position in Belmont, NC performing high-quality breast ultrasound exams and assisting with ultrasound procedures in collaboration with radiologists. Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, patient positioning, image evaluation and presentation to radiologists, assisting with procedures, maintaining exam rooms and equipment, documenting patient information and history, explaining exams to patients, providing post-procedure care instructions, onboarding/training new technologists in ultrasound, and adhering to regulatory standards. Requires RDMS (BR) certification or 1-3 years’ breast ultrasound experience, ability to follow departmental protocols, regulatory compliance knowledge, strong communication with radiologists, ability to lift 50-75 lbs, and capacity to handle varying duties, with travel up to 25% and full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- RDMS (BR) certification or one to three years’ experience with Breast Ultrasound
- Must be able to perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards
- Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role
- Must be able to review the patient history for any pertinent information
- Must be able to communicate with the radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered
- Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the Ultrasound engineer
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
- Must have positive communication skills
- Ability to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to patient capability
- Must be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomical or pathological structures and recognize any imaging abnormalities
- Travel required: 0-25%
