Job Summary
Breakfast Cook performs high-volume breakfast preparation in a remote camp setting, ensuring quality and safety per contract scope, managing production quotas and budgets, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment safety, and following Food Safety Act regulations. The role requires overnight work, travel to and from remote site locations, and adherence to a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation, with meals and accommodations provided. Strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to work as part of a team, and experience with inventory control and bakery items are valued. The position includes responsibilities such as preparing breakfast for guests, maintaining standardized quality, rotating stock, sanitation, and collaborating with culinary staff to meet dietary constraints and client expectations. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive hand work is required, along with the ability to obtain necessary travel documentation and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience providing a hot breakfast service in high volumes is required
- Current Food Safe certificate is required
- Experience with large-scale cooking in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is an asset
- Red Seal or other certifications is an asset
- Experience in inventory production is an asset
- Experience with baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an asset
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
- Criminal Background Check required
