Job Summary
Greet and seat guests, maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, and ensure all service areas are stocked, organized, and clean. Clear and reset tables, produce high-quality drinks including specialty coffee, cocktails, and tea, and perform cashiering functions for closing checks and end-of-shift paperwork. Support beverage and food service by washing dishes, restocking equipment, sweeping, mopping floors, and moving trash to designated areas. Communicate with departments regarding VIPs, answer questions about hotel standards, local attractions, and guest expectations, and accommodate special requests. Perform opening and closing procedures, side work duties, and any other tasks as requested by management.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidays
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs
- Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
- Ability to communicate professionally when answering phones and speaking with guests and team members
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
- Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and staff while executing high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
- Willingness to learn new tasks and information provide back-up and support to other team members and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner
