Job Summary
Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables while ensuring quality control of menus and maintaining a clean, organized dining environment. Clear and reset tables, restock beverage and food service areas, and produce high-quality drinks including specialty coffee, tea, and cocktails. Perform cashiering functions, manage opening and closing procedures, and sweep, mop, and clean all service areas and equipment. Accommodate special guest requests, answer inquiries about hotel standards and local attractions, and communicate with departments regarding VIPs. Work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining proper grooming and adhering to responsible serving and food handler certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidays
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs
- Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
- Ability to communicate professionally when answering phones and speaking with guests and team members
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
- Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and staff while executing high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
- Willingness to learn new tasks and information provide back-up and support to other team members and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner
