Job Summary
Prepare breakfast items based on daily occupancy and set up the service area according to hotel standards before guests arrive. Welcome every guest with a warm, friendly attitude, promptly respond to requests, and ensure presentation exceeds Marriott brand standards. Maintain a clean, inviting breakfast area throughout service by sanitizing equipment, rotating inventory using FIFO procedures, and disposing of trash. Operate kitchen equipment safely while following all food safety logs, temperature checks, and labeling requirements. Assist management with daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and communicate supply needs. Maintain accurate organization of dry and refrigerated storage areas. Part-time availability of 16 hours per week required, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Must obtain Kansas City Food Handler License within 30 days of hire. Required Qualifications
- Kansas City Food Handler License - must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check
- Maintain a minimum availability of 16 hours per week
- Be available to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business needs require
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Review and approve electronic timecards weekly for accuracy
- Comply with all hotel appearance, grooming, uniform, and professional conduct standards
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Use hands and fingers to handle food, equipment, and kitchen utensils
- Reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and twist frequently
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly
- Occasionally lift greater weights with assistance
- Work in environments with varying temperatures including kitchens, refrigerators, and freezers
- Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Work in a moderate noise environment
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service, restaurant, hospitality, or hotel experience preferred
- Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain as required by local regulations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for inventory and food preparation
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Preferred: at least 1 year experience in a Food & Beverage establishment
- Preferred: at least 1 year of Customer Service experience
