Job Summary
Greet and seat guests, ensure quality control of menus, and clear, clean, and reset tables throughout the complimentary breakfast area. Produce high-quality drinks including specialty coffee, tea, and cocktails while maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and grooming. Support all beverage and food service areas by washing dishes, restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, and moving trash. Carry out cashiering functions, perform opening and closing procedures, and answer questions about hotel standards, local attractions, and guest expectations. Accommodate special requests and communicate with departments regarding VIPs, completing any other duties as requested by management.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidays
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs as required by property
- Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card as required by city/county/state
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services
- Ability to communicate professionally when answering phones and speaking with guests and team members
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
- Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and staff while executing high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
- Willingness to learn new tasks and information provide back-up and support to other team members and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner
