Job Summary
Conduct guest service in the complimentary breakfast area with an attentive, friendly, and courteous demeanor. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming while ensuring menu quality control and table resets. Clear and reset all service areas, restock beverages and food, wash dishes by hand or machine, and sweep, mop, and clean work surfaces. Produce high-quality drinks including specialty coffee, tea, and cocktails while accommodating special guest requests. Communicate with departments regarding VIPs, answer guest inquiries about hotel standards and local attractions, and perform opening/closing procedures per station rotation. Handle stressful situations calmly and support team members during varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidays
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs
- Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
- Ability to communicate professionally when answering phones and speaking with guests and team members
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
- Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and staff while executing high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
- Willingness to learn new tasks and information provide back-up and support to other team members and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner
