Breakdown Coordinator

Job Summary
Breakdown Coordinator serves as the frontline liaison handling inbound calls and coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance between drivers, vendors, and organizational stakeholders. The role requires exceptional customer service to ensure drivers receive timely support, with duties including creating repair orders, negotiating pricing for tires/parts/services, reviewing action codes via OEM sites, and maintaining clear communication with drivers, vendors, and operations. The position emphasizes compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, ability to review repair estimates, and coordination across maintenance, safety, risk management, and operations to address breakdowns. A strong candidate will be able to adapt in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. The job is described as hourly with no guaranteed career progression and requires good organizational and problem-solving skills along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience (Preferred)
- Previous call center, service writer, or mechanical experience (Preferred)
- Experience in the transportation industry (Preferred)
- OEM maintenance certifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
