Job Summary
Break/Bulk Tech responsible for hands-on duties at a facility that bags, unloads/loads barges, trucks, and rail cars of bulk and/or break bulk products. Performs a wide range of tasks based on daily operation needs, including operating a skid loader inside barges during unloading, setting up and operating conveyors, directing product to correct storage areas, cleaning up after unloading, loading railcars/trucks to specifications, completing timely documentation, and operating multiple heavy equipment. Must follow OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations; wear appropriate PPE; participate in daily pre-shift safety meetings; perform deckhand tasks (securing barges, tying off, reading drafts); and work independently or in a team. Requires basic math skills, effective interpersonal and written communication, ability to follow instructions, and ability to work in varying environmental conditions with ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required, with preferred 1 year in an industrial setting.
