Job Summary
Electrical/Electronic Engineer position at Halliburton Brazil (RJ) focusing on R&D for oil & gas subsea and power-electronics systems. Responsibilities include experimental problem solving, establishing HSE-aligned best practices, evaluating theoretical results to meet design requirements, acting as a technical expert to coach and review others, collaborating with cross‐disciplinary teams across Brazil, the US, Singapore and India, contributing to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property, and coordinating with the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
- 5 years of experience in R&D
- Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries
- Experience in design of complex systems solutions for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace
- Experience designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines
- Experience in development and maintenance of electrical equipment and power electronics-based systems (inverters, generators, transformers, UPS)
- Knowledge in power systems demands (Batteries / Recharge / Power management)
- Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from manufacturers/vendors/suppliers
- Experience performing testing of electrical equipment and integration/qualification activities
- Troubleshooting of power electronics and proficiency with lab equipment
- Knowledge of risk assessment, FMEA, reliability tools
- Ability to provide guidance/mentoring to junior engineers
- Experience in well intervention applications involving multi disciplines (desirable)
- Experience as field engineer/maintenance engineer (desirable)
- Knowledge of power analysis and electrical networks (MV/HV) (desirable)
