Job Summary
Brazer needed to join Modine’s manufacturing team to produce high-quality chiller components for data-center cooling. Responsibilities include brazing and soldering copper, brass, and other metals; reading blueprints/schematics/technical drawings; setting up and operating brazing torches to create strong, leak-proof joints; inspecting joints for quality; coordinating with welders, assemblers, and quality control; maintaining safe work practices and a clean work area following 5S and lean principles; reporting defects or equipment issues; and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (technical brazing/welding certification preferred), 1+ year brazing experience, proficiency with brazing equipment, ability to read technical documents, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Shift options include 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with $1.00/hr differential and 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with $1.50/hr differential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification in brazing or welding preferred
- 1+ years of brazing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with oxy-acetylene torches and brazing equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and quality inspections
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform in various postures (standing, bending, kneeling) for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety regulations, PPE
