Job Summary

Perform manual and torch brazing of metal components and assemblies according to specifications while setting up and operating basic machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, and grinders. Machine components to specified dimensions and tolerances using appropriate tooling and measuring instruments, then inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify compliance. Prepare parts for brazing by cleaning, fitting, and assembling components, and maintain accurate production and quality documentation. Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and keep the work area organized using 5S principles. This entry-level manufacturing role supports production at Peak Toolworks, specializing in high-performance cutting tools and innovative industrial solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or brazing
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining and brazing processes
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and follow written work instructions
  • Basic understanding of shop mathematics and measuring techniques
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges
  • Basic knowledge of machining practices and metalworking techniques
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, metal chips, oils, and fumes while wearing required PPE
  • Required use of safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, and other PPE as required
