Job Summary
Evaluate brass and woodwind instruments to diagnose mechanical and structural issues, then perform repairs including pad replacement, soldering, key fitting, and full overhauls. Complete professional set-ups to ensure optimal performance levels while communicating clearly with customers regarding timelines and cost estimates. Manage multiple repair projects efficiently, maintain accurate work orders, and ensure quality control across all completed work. This contract position requires approximately 20-25 hours per week at a rate of $28-32/hour. Candidates must have their own fully equipped workspace or access to professional repair tools.
Required Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited instrument repair school or equivalent experience
- Fundamental skills necessary for evaluation, repair, and professional set up of brass and wind instruments
- A strong customer-service mindset
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage workflow and prioritize multiple projects
- This is a contract (1099) position
- The ideal candidate has their own fully equipped workspace or access to a professional repair workbench and tools
- The desired time commitment for this position is approximately 20-25 hours/week
- Pay will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $28-32/hour
