Job Summary
Teach students brass instrument fundamentals and advanced concepts while providing leadership to an organized group with an established plan. Advise officers on monthly agendas, supervise fund-raising activities, and assist students with competitions. Prepare detailed annual reports highlighting accomplishments, awards, and recommendations for improvement. Actively recruit members and support the school district's activities philosophies. Supervise students on out-of-town activities, which may involve overnight stays. Maintain accurate budget records and ensure safety by adhering to CPR, First Aid, and blood-borne pathogen protocols. Promote academic achievement and serve as a liaison for post-secondary scholarships.
Required Qualifications
- Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers, and adults
- Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty
- Shall hold all certificates required by Kentucky law
- Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, any and all body movements as related to the job description
- Shall have knowledge of CPR and First Aid
- Shall be knowledgeable of blood borne pathogens and other infectious materials and the procedures of dealing with them
