Job Summary
Branded UI Visual Designer for GM’s Human Interface Design Team (Vehicle Studio) focused on in-vehicle digital experiences. Hybrid work arrangement with the Warren, MI office three times per week. Responsible for creating high-quality visual design concepts, mood boards, UI assets, and production-ready graphics for digital instrument clusters, touchscreens, and HUDs; collaborating with design, software, and engineering to translate user needs and brand intent into cohesive interface solutions; contributing to prototypes, storyboards, animations, and presentations; applying design guidelines to ensure brand-aligned visuals; supporting usability evaluations and delivering design files for development handoff. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of automotive/digital UI design experience, plus a strong portfolio and proficiency with Sketch, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience designing digital user interfaces for automotive, embedded, mobile, or other complex product experiences
- Strong portfolio showcasing visual design craft, interface design, creativity, and depth of thought
- Strong UI visualization, visual communication, digital design, and UX design skills
- Experience creating sketches, mockups, prototypes, presentations, and other design communication materials
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to balance customer needs, brand goals, and technical constraints to solve design problems effectively
- Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with cross-functional teams
