Job Summary
Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate compliance with accident prevention plans. Coach workers on safe work practices and enforce corrective actions to mitigate hazards. Assist in investigating work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents while ensuring timely submission of safety reports and statistics. Review all accident and investigation reports, and interface with corporate safety staff and regulatory agencies regarding incident management. Establish branch safety goals and evaluate personal protective equipment. Serve as the primary safety liaison between the company, clients, and external professionals. This safety-sensitive role is based in Cincinnati, OH, with travel to local job sites required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years' experience in construction safety
- OSHA 30 certification
- OSHA 500 certification
- OSHA 501 certification
- OSHA 510 certification
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to travel to job sites located in the Cincinnati market
- Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently
- Must be able to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Background screening
- Drug-free workplace compliance (drug and alcohol testing)
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety
- CHST or other BCSP Credentials
- Previous experience conducting safety training
- Local to Cincinnati, OH
