Job Summary
Branch Manager/commercial lending: Direct and administer branch operations; supervise staff; review and process commercial and consumer loan requests; meet with applicants to explain credit policies and obtain loan information; assist in collections; cross-sell services; provide general bank information; ensure adherence to policies and procedures; maintain security and branch efficiency; lead staff meetings, training, and performance evaluations; manage relationships with customers and community; oversee branch security, cash controls, and daily balancing; coordinate with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions; drive new business and maintain branch performance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least five years of related experience in a financial institution, including commercial lending experience
- Minimum of two to four years of supervisory experience
- Experience managing a branch with deposit size of $1 million to $15 million, with supervision responsibility for at least 1–3 branch employees
- Thorough knowledge of bank services and products
- Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures
- Active license number with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, or the ability to obtain such
- Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness
- Knowledge of bank lending and collections programs, policies, and procedures
- Involvement in at least one civic or trade organization
- Customer development (calling) goals met or exceeded
- Highly trustworthy and security conscious
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interviewing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to use a financial calculator, related computer applications, and business machines
