Job Summary
Conduct detailed engineering analyses, develop lift plans, and select appropriate equipment for high-risk, high-complexity load handling activities. Guide junior branch engineers on technical matters, review their work, and support their professional development. Collaborate with sales leads, site teams, and clients to provide technical expertise, address on-site challenges, and ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, ASME, AISC, and ANSI standards. Perform structural and stability analyses, conduct risk assessments, and determine the appropriate cranes, rigging, and lifting equipment based on load requirements. Mentor junior engineers, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and drive innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in crane and rigging projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the crane, rigging, or heavy lifting industry
- demonstrated project engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- OSHA 10
- ability to perform detailed load calculations
- structural analyses
- in-depth understanding of various cranes, hoists, rigging equipment, and their specific applications
- Proficiency with CAD, 3D modeling software, and industry-specific tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Lift Planner, or similar programs
- strong knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including OSHA, AISC, ASME, ANSI, and others specific to lifting and rigging
- Understanding of sales principles used throughout the organization
