Job Summary
Set up and operate machines to bend, form, cut, and shape metal sheets according to blueprints and specifications. Read engineering drawings to determine machine setup and production sequences, then inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area while using hand tools and precision measuring instruments for material handling. This role requires previous experience with brake press or similar equipment in a fabrication environment, proficiency in blueprint reading, and knowledge of GD&T principles. Shifts include 2nd, 10-hour, 8-hour, and overnight options with weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating brake press/plasma/shear or similar equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Familiarity with stamping press operations and the use of calipers, micrometers, milling machines, and other precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
- Ability to use hand tools and operate overhead cranes for material handling
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- 2nd shift is 3:00 pm to 12:00 am
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Overnight shift
- Weekends as needed
- Work Location: In person
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with programming press brake machines is a plus
- Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines is preferred but not required
