Job Summary
Set stops on the machine bed, change dies, and adjust components such as the ram or power press during successive passes. Operate power presses, apron brakes, swaging machines, and hydraulic presses according to specifications. Install, align, and secure gears, fixtures, and dies using gauges, templates, and hand tools. Plan operation sequences while applying knowledge of metal properties. Inspect workpieces for defects and verify dimensions and weight using micrometers and scales. Select and position die sets into the ram and bed using hoists and measuring instruments. Dakota Bodies offers day, night, and weekend shifts with a starting pay of $20.00 per hour plus a $2.00 night shift differential. Training is available for new operators at the Watertown, SD facility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to read a tape measure
Desired Qualifications
- Experience preferred but will train
- preferably using an Accurpress Brake ETS 3000 Control
- complete training at the Watertown, SD facility
