Job Summary
Set up and operate hydraulic or punch presses for routine fabrication tasks, selecting correct tooling and installing punches, dies, and fixtures according to specifications. Load workpieces, align them against fixtures, and adjust machine speeds or components using gauges and hand tools. Perform assigned work to time standards, lubricate parts, and mark identifying data on finished workpieces. Maintain performance logs, report equipment deficiencies to maintenance, and participate in preventative maintenance. Resolve basic manufacturing issues through problem-solving or seek assistance as needed. Work the 2nd or 3rd shift with mandatory weekend coverage. Requires strong metal press forming background, blueprint reading skills, and ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring
- Able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids
- Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance
- Ability to use a forklift
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
- Work in an efficient and timely manner
- Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently
- Demonstrated detail orientation
- Self motivation skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be available for 2nd Shift - 2:30 am - 11:00 pm, M-F & Mandatory Saturdays 5:00 am - 10:00 am
- Must be available for 3rd Shift - 10:00 pm - 6:00 am, S-Th & Mandatory Friday 8:00 pm - 1:00 am
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
