Job Summary
Bradley Fighting Vehicle Mechanic in Sterling Heights, MI to perform disassembly/reassembly, verification of functionality, and repairs on BFV systems, utilizing electrical test equipment and diagnostic methods. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, maintaining and servicing heavy-duty ground vehicles, performing preventive and special maintenance, following manufacturers' specifications, documenting activities, and ensuring safety compliance. Requires four years of experience as a mechanic in motor pools or commercial maintenance, BFV-related experience, CDL-B eligibility, and ability to travel up to 50%. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent and DoD or private sector Bradley Fighting Vehicle certification training.
Required Qualifications
- US Army Ground Vehicle mechanic experience
- Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) turret experience
- Bradley Fighting Vehicle mechanic (BFV) experience
- FST experience on US ARMY Ground Vehicle Systems
- Experience with Bradley M2A2, M2A3 and BFIST
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment for ground vehicles
- Knowledge of VDMS (Vehicle Diagnostic Management Systems)
- Four years’ experience as a mechanic in a motor pool or commercial maintenance
- Experience with the US Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV)
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL-B)
- Computer experience: Strong in MS Office including Excel and Word and the ability to complete expense reports and time sheets online
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
