Job Summary
Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Griffith High School leads and administers the boys wrestling program, plans practices, schedules the season, supervises athletes and staff, ensures safety and compliance with IHSAA rules, and fosters academics, sportsmanship, and character development while coordinating with the Athletic Director and Principal. Responsibilities include program leadership, practice planning, competition preparation, equipment and budget coordination, staff supervision, student-athlete development, and community engagement; requires knowledge of wrestling techniques, program management, and ability to supervise student-athletes, with evening/weekend commitments and required coaching certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Current completion of all IHSAA-required coaching certifications
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Successful completion of all district-required background checks and trainings
